It’s no secret that intimate weddings and elopements have a special place in my heart. From the second Katie inquired about some dreamy Lake Tahoe engagement photos, I was hooked on her and Michael’s love. I didn’t actually think things could be any more magical until they booked me for their San Francisco city hall microwedding day.

As a California wedding and elopement photographer, I’ve photographed my fair share of city hall nuptials. But I’m 100% convinced that there is no prettier government building than San Francisco! The vibes were truly immaculate – perfect for these classy lovers. Between the stunning architecture and Katie’s chic satin dress, I felt like I was in a sweet little romcom. Side note — Did I immediately text sneak peeks my besties after this microwedding? Yes. 

As if I wasn’t obsessed enough with this day, Katie and Michale made it known from the second we hopped on our first call that they valued their family above all else. The exchanges of smiles and the tears falling during the ceremony solidified exactly that. Katie and Michael’s vows had me fighting for my life; as soon as I saw Katie wipe a tear from her eye, I was a puddle. Once the “I do’s” were exchanged, we headed to the recorder’s office and snapped a couple of photos. While the lighting wasn’t necessarily something that I was obsessed with, capturing such an exciting moment for Katie and Michael was such an honor. 

City Hall Elopement Inspiration

After the ceremony and family portraits were wrapped up, it was time to head to Wayfare Tavern for some cocktails and an intimate dinner party. Katie’s eye for detail did not go unnoticed; she hand selected and paired each custom place setting. The florals by Ampersand – San Francisco complimented the warm dinner space beautifully. Not only was the food phenomenal, but the entire ambience of the evening was literally icing on the cake of the most magical San Francisco City Hall Microwedding.
