You guys already know I’m a sucker for a romantic wedding day. And if you didn’t know… now you do 😉 Anna and Zeke’s Bakersfield, CA Intimate Backyard Wedding felt straight out of a romcom. Even the way the bride and I met felt like kismet. Their wedding day was full of so much love and laughter; I still find myself reminiscing of it to this day.

I love the story of how I met Anna, because it was truly a “full circle” kinda moment. Last summer, I had booked Anna to a picnic setup/installment for a styled shoot I was doing. The fact that I had the opportunity to shoot her sweet wedding was such a blessing. I was STOKED when Anna and Zeke booked me! Initially, they went back and forth looking for the perfect wedding venue. Ultimately, they chose to tie the knot in Anna’s aunt’s backyard. Having ample freedom to create their dream wedding was exactly what they were looking for!

The day of Anna and Zeke’s wedding, the forecast called for a day full of rain. We started with a first look, which gave way to blue skies and fluffy clouds overhead. As if there was a hint to the day ahead, a ladybug landed on Anna during the first look… I said this was a romcom, right!? After the first look, we all headed inside to wait out the rain that had arrived. After the guys playing a couple games of pool, everyone joined together in prayer, hoping the rain would pass. Who wouldn’t want to play some pool with their best friends on their wedding day?! Anna and Zeke’s ceremony began with a gray sky above, but no rain. Just about 15 minutes in, right before their first kiss, it began to drizzle again. My hopeless-romantic heart was just melting.

It was truly such an honor to capture Anna and Zeke’s Bakersfield, California intimate backyard wedding. Their ceremony and reception were filled with so many people that had nothing but love for the sweet couple.
